Save My Spot Before I Pack Another Box

 · REPLAY · Q&A · PRINTABLES

Moving means spending money.

Movers. Shipping. The lift. The truck. Storage. Boxes. Packing supplies. Extra suitcases. Maybe professional organizers. Packing help. Unpacking help. And all the random little things that quietly add up.

And when women are tired and overwhelmed, they start saying things like:

"Fine, pack it."

"Send it."

"Put it in the box. We'll deal with it later."

"It's easier to just take it."

Before you pay to pack it, ship it, lift it, move it, unload it, unpack it, organize it, and find a place for it in your new home…

Can we please make sure it actually deserves to come?

A move is not just a move.

It is an incredible opportunity to start fresh.

I always tell my students who are about to move:

You are actually so lucky.

I know, I know.

Moving does not always feel lucky.

It feels like boxes, tape, stress, phone calls, movers, decisions, and "where did I put the scissors?"

But moving can be like a forced restart button.

Because think about it.

Your cabinets are being emptied anyway.

Your closets are being emptied anyway.

Your drawers are being opened anyway.

Your storage areas are finally being looked at anyway.

The attic, machsan, basement, garage, or whatever storage space you have been avoiding is finally being dealt with anyway.

All the things that have been hiding in the back of your house are suddenly standing there like:

"Hi. Remember me?"

And now you have a choice.

You can pack it all and bring the same overwhelm into the next home.

Or you can use the move as an amazing, life-changing, giant reset.

A Frum Minimalism reset.

Which means we are going to be very, very selective.

We are going to ask:

Do I need this?

Do I use this?

Do I love this?

Does this deserve space in my next home?

And the big one:

Do I actually want to pay money to move this?

Because there are things in your home that absolutely deserve to come with you.

And there are things that really, really don't.

And before you pay movers to transport them, I want to help you tell the difference.

I've seen this happen so many times.

Storytime № 1

The woman who loved living with the basics

Just last week, a woman called me in full panic mode.

She said something like:

"Ellie, the lift is coming, and I've been managing with all this minimal stuff, and I don't want my things! Where was Frum Minimalism before I moved?"

And I was like, exactly.

This is what happens.

The weird in-between stage

A woman sends her lift, or packs most of her boxes, or gets into that weird in-between stage of moving where she is suddenly living with just the basics.

A few dishes.

A few pots.

A few outfits.

A few toys.

The basics.

And then she realizes something shocking.

She loves it.

Her house is easier.

Her kitchen is calmer.

There is less to put away.

Less to clean around.

Less to search through.

Less to manage.

Less to fight with.

And she tells me:

"Ellie, this is crazy, but I kind of love living like this."

Exactly.

That is the Frum Minimalism moment.

She finally feels what it is like to live with less.

But then the lift comes.

The boxes arrive.

And instead of thinking, "Yay! My stuff is here!" she thinks:

"Oh my gosh. What am I going to do with all of this?"

And if you already sent it?

Now, is it too late?

No.

Of course not.

You can still decide.

You can still open the boxes and be very selective.

You can still make a donation pile.

You can still sell things.

You can still call my team and say, "Ellie, help, I do not want all of this coming into my house."

You can even do what I half-jokingly, half-seriously tell women:

"Don't even let it invade your home. Make a yard sale in your garden while the movers are unloading the boxes."

But here's the thing.

It is much easier, cheaper, and calmer to make these decisions before you pay to move it.

Before you pack it.

Before you ship it.

Before you lift it.

Before you unload it.

Before it becomes a mountain of boxes in your new dining room.

That is the part I want to help you with.

I want you to have that realization before you send it.

And if you already sent it?

Great. Come anyway.

Because now you know something very awesome:

You can live with less.

Storytime № 2

The furniture that didn't fit

A couple of weeks ago, I met a woman who moved and discovered that some of the furniture they had paid thousands of dollars to move could not even fit into the doorway of the new home.

Read that again! It could not even fit into the doorway!

The coffee table.

The fridge.

They paid thousands of dollars to move these things.

They paid to have them delivered.

And then they could not even use them.

They had nowhere to store them properly.

They had no time to sell them properly.

So they had to give things away.

After spending all that money to move them.

“We spent thousands of dollars to move it, get it delivered, and now we have to spend thousands of dollars buying things that actually fit our new home.”

This is exactly why I am giving this class.

So you do not make this mistake after you already spent the money.

Storytime № 3

The boxes that took a very expensive trip around the world

I just had a client who moved internationally a few years ago and lived in three different temporary homes.

And they still had boxes from the lift.

Still.

Boxes they paid to ship.

Boxes they paid to move.

Boxes that followed them from home to home.

And no one even needed what was in it.

After a while, you have to stop and ask what is actually inside those boxes.

Because if you have lived without it for months, or even longer, do you actually need it?

Or did it just get a very expensive trip around the world?

“We paid to send these boxes across the world, and now they are still following us from apartment to apartment.”

That is not a moving problem.

That is a clutter problem with really high shipping costs.

Storytime № 4

The move up the stairs

And this applies even if you are moving down the block.

Or across the hall.

Or to another floor in the same building.

I once had a client who moved in the same building.

From the ground floor to the sixth floor of the same building.

Sounds simple, right?

Same building.

Same address.

No lift.

No international shipping.

But she still had to pay movers to bring everything into the new apartment.

They even had to pay to fix the elevator because it was used too heavily and broke.

And because a lot of the furniture did not fit into the elevator, they had to pay the movers even more money to get everything up the stairs.

Then, about a month later, she called us in because she was overwhelmed.

“I moved so much stuff into the new apartment, and now the new home feels so cluttered and overwhelming.”

If you are paying money, time, energy, or sanity to move your things from one place to another, this applies to you.

The Frum Minimalism Method

This is exactly what I teach my clients and the women in my Professional Organizers Academy.

I'll walk you through moving decisions the same way I walk through them with private clients and with the organizers I train.

Because "declutter before you move" sounds cute and nice — but it's way too vague.

What does that even mean?

Declutter what? How much?

What should stay? What should go?

What is worth paying to move?

What should be sold? What should be donated?

What should you not waste one more second thinking about?

I'll share the Frum Minimalism method I use in real homes, with real women, making real moving decisions.

The point of this class is super simple.

Move less stuff. Spend less money. Reset fresh in your new home.

Your new home should not start with old clutter in new cabinets, a stuffed kitchen, impossible closets, or a storage room where old decisions just quietly hide again.

If you don't take this class…

IYH, you'll have an amazing move. Really.

But you may also find yourself saying:

  • "Why did I pay to move this?"
  • "Where am I supposed to put all of this?"
  • "I was calmer before the lift came."
  • "My new house already feels full."
  • "I wish I had thought about this before."

And that is what I want to help you avoid.

But if you do take this class…

You will go into your move with a totally different brain.

Instead of panic-packing, you will pack with a plan. Instead of automatically asking, "Can this fit in a box?" you will start asking:

Does this deserve to come with me?

· You may pack fewer boxes.

· You may spend less money.

· You may save yourself hours of packing and unpacking.

And most importantly, you can walk into your next home feeling like:

"I did not just move my clutter. I used this move as a reset."

Inside the Class

We're going to help you pack with a plan.

This is a focused Frum Minimalism class to help women decide one question very, very well: Does this actually deserve to come with me?

  • What is worth paying to move.
  • What probably is not.
  • What people often regret sending.
  • What should be donated.
  • What might be worth selling.
  • What is not worth selling — because your time and sanity also count.
  • What should come with you personally.
  • And how to stop using "we'll deal with it later" as the moving plan.

We'll talk through real examples from real homes, so you can start looking at your own things with a much clearer Frum Minimalism filter.

I'm offering this flash sale for only $37 because so many women are moving right now, and I want this to be an easy yes before you pack another box.

Compared to what you're already spending on the move, this might be the cheapest part of your move. And it may save you money, space, time, and so much stress.

If it helps you avoid moving even a few boxes of things you don't need, it can pay for itself.

But the bigger win is not even the $37. The bigger win is walking into your new home lighter. Not buried before you even start.

Save My Spot Before I Pack Another Box

Frequently asked.

No. The lift is a very clear example because it is expensive and dramatic, but this class is for anyone moving anywhere. Across the ocean. Across the country. Across the city. Down the block. Down the hall. If you are paying to move your things, this applies.

Perfect. Honestly, that is even better. You still have time to do this calmly instead of making decisions while the movers are standing there and someone is asking where the tape went.

Come anyway. You can still make better decisions going forward.

I want to be honest. Most of this class is focused on what to do before you send things. But if you already sent everything, you can still learn so much — because the next decision is: What do I actually allow into my new home? You can still be selective before things go into the cabinets, closets, drawers, and storage areas. The boxes may have arrived, but they do not automatically get a free pass into your home.

We'll talk about this the Frum Minimalism way. The biggest rule is that we do not declutter other people's things. This class will help you focus on what you can decide, what you can simplify, and how to think through shared spaces with respect.

Your move is already costing enough.

Before you spend money moving your stuff, let's make sure you actually want the stuff.

Use this move as your reset.

Come to the class.

Move less stuff.

Spend less money.

Start fresh.
